Ways to Make Money
This page lists every way Learnomy lets you earn from what you teach, who pays in each case, and where to set it up. Most models ship in Learnomy Free. The ones marked Pro need Learnomy Pro.
What you can do
- Sell a single course once, for a fixed number of days, or as a monthly or yearly subscription.
- Sell membership plans that unlock a group of courses, with free trials.
- Let a student either buy a course outright or reach it through a membership.
- Run timed sales and coupons.
- Sell a course on another platform and grant access here.
- Let other instructors sell on your site while you keep a share of every sale.
- Pro: sell seats to companies, sell learning paths, sell gift codes, keep subscribers with upgrades, pauses and payment retries, and pay instructors automatically.

How to choose
- One flagship course: sell it one-time. Add a sale price for launch week.
- A growing library: put the courses in a membership plan and add a free trial.
- Both kinds of customer: use the one-time-or-members model, so a course has a price and is also included in a plan.
- Time-boxed programmes: use fixed-term access, so access ends when the programme does.
- Other instructors: turn on the marketplace and set your share. With Pro, instructors are paid through Stripe Connect instead of manual withdrawals.
- Businesses buying for their staff: use Spaces (Pro) to sell seats with a seat limit and a team portal.
Keeping the revenue you earn (Pro)
Memberships Pro adds tools that stop subscribers slipping away:
- Upgrades and downgrades with fair credit for unused time.
- Pause and resume instead of cancel.
- Automatic retries when a renewal payment fails.
- MRR, churn and lifetime-value reporting.
See Subscription Lifecycle (Pro) and Stripe Connect Payouts.
What you do not need
- No WooCommerce or MemberPress. Stripe and PayPal checkout are built in. WooCommerce works as an optional payment gateway if you already run a store.
- No Stripe Price IDs or PayPal plan IDs. Enter a price and Learnomy creates the product at the gateway on the first purchase, subscriptions included. See Payment Gateways.
- No platform fee. Learnomy takes nothing from your sales. You pay only your payment processor's fees.
Refunds take back what was bought
A refund returns the money and removes the access that money paid for, including Pro purchases such as learning paths, seat packs, team subscriptions and gift codes. A partial refund reduces the instructor's commission in proportion rather than cancelling all of it.
