FreeAn order in another store, a membership plugin or an automation gives course and membership access through a signed webhook, without recording a sale in Learnomy. Revokes work the same way.

Payments FAQ
Do I have to set up payments if my courses are free?
No. Payments is required only while something on your site has a price. A free or internal academy can switch the Payments module off on the Modules page, and the setup wizard no longer asks for payment keys. Turn it back on the day you add a price.
Can someone buy a course without creating an account first?
Yes, once you turn on Guest checkout in LMS Settings > Payments. It is off by default. A visitor buys or enrolls with only an email, and the account is created when payment succeeds, or straight away for a free course. They get a set-password email, and the purchase confirmation carries a receipt with order number, amount, date and method. An email that already has an account is asked to log in. It works with every gateway, including WooCommerce, and it is rate-limited per IP and runs your sign-up CAPTCHA.
Do I need WooCommerce to take payments?
No. Learnomy ships with built-in Stripe and PayPal direct checkout. Action Scheduler is bundled so subscriptions, renewals, and webhooks work out of the box. WooCommerce is an optional third gateway you can connect if your site already runs it, but it is never required.
I already sell through WooCommerce, EDD or a membership plugin. Can that store give course access?
Yes. On the free plugin, Access Grants lets any store or automation give access through a signed webhook, and the Access Log shows every grant with its order number. Learnomy Pro adds ready-made bridges for WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content Pro and MemberPress: pick what each product or level unlocks, and refunds and cancellations follow the store.
Can students pay by bank transfer instead of a card?
Yes, through Stripe’s delayed methods such as SEPA Direct Debit, Bacs, BECS, boleto, OXXO and Konbini. The enrolment lands when the money clears, not at checkout, and a payment that fails to clear never leaves a paid-looking order behind.
Can I offer both monthly and annual billing on the same plan?
Yes. Set a monthly and an annual price on the same plan and students choose their billing cycle at checkout. Learnomy creates the matching Stripe price or PayPal plan itself, so there are no IDs to copy between dashboards.
How does a free trial work?
Set a trial length in days on the membership plan editor. Students get access immediately and are not charged until the trial period ends. Cancellations during the trial do not generate a charge.
How does a 100% discount coupon work?
A coupon with 100% discount skips the Stripe or PayPal payment step entirely and enrolls the student directly without requiring a card. The transaction is recorded with a zero-amount row so your ledger stays complete.
Where can I see all my transactions?
Under LMS Commerce > Transactions. Every charge, renewal, and refund is recorded with the gateway transaction ID, amount, currency, and commission split. Export any date range to CSV.
What membership analytics does Pro add?
Learnomy Pro adds a Membership Analytics page showing active subscriber count, MRR, ARR, 30-day churn rate, and a cohort retention grid that shows how well each monthly signup cohort retains over time. All data is exportable to CSV.
