A rule cascade that handles every case
Learnomy applies a three-level cascade on every completed payment. The default 30% platform / 70% instructor split is configurable at any time, and per-course or per-instructor overrides take precedence when set.

Instructor FAQ
How do instructors apply to join the platform?
Instructors submit an application form on the front end of your site. You review submissions from the Instructors admin page and approve or reject each one. Approved instructors receive the lrn_instructor role automatically.
Can instructors see other instructors' courses?
No. Ownership gates in the API scope every read and write operation to the instructor's own courses. An instructor cannot view, edit, or access data from another instructor's content, even at the REST API level.
How does the commission split work?
Learnomy applies a three-step rule cascade: first it checks for a per-course commission override, then a per-instructor override (Pro), and finally falls back to the global default. The global default is 30% platform / 70% instructor and is configurable at any time.
What happens when an instructor's withdrawal request is rejected?
The rejected amount is restored to the instructor's available balance. The instructor can see the rejection and submit a new request. No earnings are lost.
Does a refund affect instructor earnings?
Yes. When a full refund is issued, Learnomy automatically marks the matching commission record as reversed. Instructor earnings totals always reflect real settled money, not gross sales.
What does Stripe Connect add in Pro?
With Stripe Connect, approved withdrawals transfer funds directly from your Stripe account to the instructor's own Stripe connected account. No manual bank transfers or third-party payout tools are needed.
