Run nonprofit community education with Learnomy

Open courses versus funded programs. Run an invite-only classroom, Phase 1, lists invite only, closed, free, and the five paid models. A nonprofit typically runs both ends of that list on the same catalog: Free for open community courses anyone can self-enroll in once signed in, and Invite only for a grant-funded or restricted program where you decide exactly who gets a seat -- for example a specific cohort a grant is paying for, with no public sign-up at all.

Hiding only the funded programs. The same guide's Phase 2 weighs per-course Visibility: Private against the site-wide Private site toggle. A nonprofit whose open courses should stay public wants per-course Visibility on the invite-only programs only, not the site-wide toggle -- the same choice that guide's own model site makes, for the same reason: most of the catalog is meant to be found, and only a few programs are not.

Gifting a seat. Learnomy has no dedicated gift-codes screen outside Membership Pro (a Pro feature scoped to membership plans). For a one-time course, the equivalent tool is a 100%-off coupon, restricted to a single course: it lets you comp one specific person into a course that is otherwise sold to everyone else, without touching that course's pricing model at all. Use it for a donor-sponsored seat, or to waive the fee for someone who cannot pay, on a course you still want to sell normally to everyone else. See Coupons.

Volunteer instructors, without the marketplace machinery. A nonprofit's instructors are usually unpaid, so the application queue and commission split built for a paid instructor marketplace do not apply here. Go to Learnomy > Instructors and grant the lrn_instructor role directly to each volunteer rather than routing them through a self-serve application, since there is no revenue to review or split.
