How to use the instructor dashboard in Learnomy, step by step: open the dashboard from My Account, read the numbers, check the Completion Funnel, find students who need a nudge, and send an announcement.
In this tutorial you will use the instructor dashboard in Learnomy, the way an instructor does. It shows their courses, their students and how far the students have come. You need the free Learnomy plugin, and an instructor account. The Earnings page also needs the Commissions and Payouts module, which is off on a new site unless the setup wizard turned it on. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the dashboard. Read the numbers. Check the Completion Funnel. Find students who need a nudge. Then send an announcement. Step one. Open the dashboard. Sign in as an instructor and open My Account. In the account menu, click Instructor. The Instructor Dashboard opens. Its menu leads to My Courses, Students, Grading and Edit profile. Earnings is there when the Commissions and Payouts module is on, for an instructor who shares in the revenue. Step two. Read the numbers. Total Courses counts the courses this instructor teaches. Total Students counts the students enrolled in them. Published counts the courses that are live. Revenue is the share of sales this instructor has earned. It shows only for an instructor who shares in the revenue. Step three. Check the Completion Funnel. It has four bars. Enrolled, Started, fifty percent or more complete, and Completed. A big drop from Enrolled to Started, as here, means most students have no progress recorded yet. Step four. Find students who need a nudge. Students at Risk lists up to five students with no progress for fourteen days or more, or who never started. Send reminder sends that student a reminder about the course. It is not clicked here. Awaiting Grading shows when quiz answers need a grade from this instructor, with a button that opens the grading queue. Step five. Send an announcement. Under Announcements, type a Title and a Message. It goes to every student enrolled in this instructor's courses, as a notification. Tick Also send email to email it as well. Then click Send. It is not clicked here, so nothing is sent. That is all five. The dashboard opened, the numbers read, the Completion Funnel checked, the students who need a nudge found, and an announcement written. You now know what your instructors see when they sign in. Next in this series: Set instructor commissions.
