Transcript

In this tutorial you will build a learning path in Learnomy. A path is a set of courses that students take as one program. You need Learnomy Pro. Learning Paths is one of its extensions, and it starts switched off. You also need two or more published courses. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Turn on Learning Paths. Start a path. Set its type and access. Add the courses. Then see it as a student. Step one. Turn on Learning Paths. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Modules, and find the Learning Paths card. It has a Pro badge. It starts switched off. Click its switch to turn it on. Here it is already on, so the switch is blue. Step two. Start a path. Open Learnomy, then Pro Tools, and click the Learning Paths card. The list shows each path with its Author, its Type, its Students and its Status. Click New Path. A draft is made at once and its editor opens. In the editor, under Path details, give the path a Title, a Description, and a Cover image for its card. Step three. Set its type and access. Under Type, tick Sequential and students must finish each course before the next one opens. Leave it unticked and the path is Flexible. Students can take its courses in any order. Status is Draft or Published. Only a published path with at least one course is shown to students. Access is Free, or Paid with a one-time Price. Completion certificate is optional. Pick a template there if finishing the whole path should earn one. Then click Save Changes. It is not clicked here. Step four. Add the courses. Scroll to the card called Courses in this path. The courses are numbered in the order students take them. To add one, choose it in the list under the card and click Add Course. It joins the end of the path straight away. Each row has a Required box. Untick it, and the course is an extra, not needed to finish the path. The arrows move a row up or down, and the bin takes it out. All of these are stored the moment you click, so none is clicked here. Step five. See it as a student. Now sign in as a student. The Learning Paths page has a card for each published path, with its type and its number of steps. Open a path. A new student sees Enroll Now on a free path. This student has joined, so the page says, you are enrolled. Under Curriculum, the first course is open. On a sequential path the later ones carry a lock until the course before is complete. In My Account, Learning Paths shows each path the student joined, with how far through it they are. That is all five. Learning Paths turned on, a path started, its type and access set, the courses added, and the path seen as a student. Your courses now add up to one clear program. Next in this series: Run a cohort.
