Transcript

In this tutorial you will run a cohort in Learnomy. A cohort is a group of students who take one course over the same weeks. You need Learnomy Pro. Cohorts is one of its extensions, and it starts switched off. You also need a published course. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Turn on Cohorts. Create a cohort. Add members. Then see it as a student. Step one. Turn on Cohorts. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Modules, and find the Cohorts card. It has a Pro badge. It starts switched off. Click its switch to turn it on. Here it is already on, so the switch is blue. Step two. Create a cohort. Open Learnomy, then Pro Tools, and click the Cohorts card. Then click Add New. Type the Cohort name, and choose the Course the group will take. Set the Start Date and the End date. Max Students is the number of seats. A new form starts at thirty. Status starts at Draft. Choose Open when students may join. After that it moves by itself. In progress from the start date, and Completed after the end date. Then click Save cohort. It is not clicked here. Step three. Add members. The list shows each cohort with its Course, its Members out of the seats, its dates and its Status. Click Members on a row. Type the email of someone who already has an account on your site, then click Add member. It is not clicked here. Adding someone also enrolls them in the course. Above the box is the count, here eight of twelve seats. A full cohort takes nobody new. Each member has a Remove button. Step four. See it as a student. Now sign in as a student. While a course has an Open cohort, students enroll in it by joining the cohort. Its page gives the status and the dates. Capacity is the number of seats. A signed in student clicks Join this cohort. It is not clicked here. In My Account, Cohorts lists the cohorts the student belongs to. Under it is a leaderboard of the latest one. It ranks the top five members by course progress, so members of a cohort see each other's names and progress here. That is all four. Cohorts turned on, a cohort created, members added, and the cohort seen as a student. Your course can now run for one group at a time. Next in this series: Build a course from the front end.

Top notch support

Top notch support! I've been frustrated generally by the slow support for most themes and plugins, but they are helpful and quick to reply. Highly recommend!
