Transcript

In this tutorial you will add a flat tax rate in Learnomy. It is one rate, charged on top of the price at every paid checkout. You need the free Learnomy plugin, and a payment gateway that is connected. It takes about two minutes. There are five steps. Open Payments. Turn on Collect tax. Set the rate and the label. Save the settings. Then see the tax at checkout. Step one. Open Payments. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Settings, and click Payments. Scroll down to the card called Tax. It adds one flat rate to every paid checkout. Step two. Turn on Collect tax. Switch on Add a flat tax rate to paid checkouts. It is off on a new site. On this site it is already on. The tax is added on top of the price. Stripe and PayPal both charge it, on one-time purchases and on subscriptions. With the WooCommerce gateway, WooCommerce works out the tax itself when its own taxes are switched on. Step three. Set the rate and the label. Tax rate is one percentage, from zero to one hundred. Twenty means twenty percent. Tax label is the name students see on the order summary, such as Tax, V A T or G S T. Left empty, it reads Tax. Step four. Save the settings. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the Payments section. It is not clicked here. To stop charging tax later, switch Collect tax off and save again. Step five. See the tax at checkout. Now sign in as a student and open the checkout of a paid course. The Order Summary has a line with your label and the rate. The Total is the price plus the tax. Here, twenty nine dollars plus five dollars eighty. When a coupon is applied, the tax is worked out on the lower price. That is all five. Payments opened, Collect tax turned on, the rate and the label set, the settings saved, and the tax seen at checkout. Every paid checkout on your site now adds your tax. Next in this series: Find a payment in Transactions.

Great customer service

Great customer service. I have asked several questions about the website theme template I am using from them, and they have always been very helpful in their responses- answering all of my questions and in a timely manner.
