Transcript

In this tutorial you will see each student's learning journey in Learnomy. Skills, badges and a timeline, built from the courses they finish. You need Learnomy Pro. User Journey is one of its extensions, and it starts switched off. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Turn on User Journey. Set up skills. Set up milestones. Read a student's journey. Then see it as a student. Step one. Turn on User Journey. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Modules, and find the User Journey card. It has a Pro badge. It starts switched off. Click its switch to turn it on. Here it is already on, so the switch is blue. Scores build up from that moment. Step two. Set up skills. Open Learnomy, then Pro Tools, and click Skills. A skill has a name, and a score from zero to one hundred. The list at the foot shows the skills you have. Built from says how many items feed each one. To feed a skill, use Add content to a skill. Pick the Skill, then a Course, a Quiz or a whole Category. Weight makes an item count for more. The score is the share of the skill a student has completed. Then click Add to skill. It is not clicked here. Step three. Set up milestones. In Pro Tools, click Milestones. A milestone is a badge with one rule. Two are built in. First Course Completed, and Five Courses Completed. For your own, give it a Name and a Badge icon, then choose when it is earned. There are five rules. A number of courses. Courses in a category. Quizzes passed in a category. A score in a skill. Or one specific course. Students earn it by themselves the moment they meet the rule. Create milestone stores it. It is not clicked here. Step four. Read a student's journey. In Pro Tools, click User Journeys. Each student has a row, with Skills, Courses Completed, Quizzes Passed and Last Activity. Click View Journey on a row. At the top are the Skills, each with its score. Under them, Badges, the milestones this student has earned. Grant a badge awards one by hand, for work done somewhere else. Revoke takes one back. Neither is clicked here. Then come Achievements, and the Activity Timeline. Every enrolment, completion and certificate, with its date. Step five. See it as a student. Now sign in as that student. In My Account, My Journey opens with Your skills, and the same score. Under it are their Achievements, with the date each one was earned, and their Recent activity. That is all five. User Journey turned on, skills set up, milestones set up, a student's journey read, and the journey seen as a student. You can now see how far each student has come, and so can they. Next in this series: Set up a learning space for a team.
