In this tutorial you will set up a learning space for a team in Learnomy. A space holds one group of people and the courses they should take. You need Learnomy Pro. Learning Spaces is one of its extensions, and it starts switched off. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Turn on Learning Spaces. Create a learning space. Assign its courses. Add its members. Split members into groups. Then see it as a member. Step one. Turn on Learning Spaces. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Modules, and find the Learning Spaces card. It has a Pro badge. It starts switched off. Click its switch to turn it on. Here it is already on, so the switch is blue. Step two. Create a learning space. Open Learnomy, then Learning Spaces. Each space has a row, with its Owner, Members and Courses. Click Add New. A form opens on the same screen. Give the space a name, and an Owner, the person who runs it for that team. Seat limit is how many people the space can hold. Zero means no limit. Then click Save Learning Space, at the foot of the form. It is not clicked here. Step three. Assign its courses. Back on the list, click Manage on a space, then the Courses tab. Assigned Courses is what its members can open. Under Add Courses, search your catalogue and click Assign on a course. Assign whole Category adds a full category in one go. Every student in the space is enrolled in a course the moment it is assigned. Nothing is assigned here. Step four. Add its members. Click the Members tab. Type the email address of someone with an account, pick Student or Manager, and click Add. A new student is enrolled in every course of the space at once. Nobody is added here. The line under the name counts the seats. Six of ten are used. Five members, and the owner. Each member has a role list, a Suspend button and a Remove button. None of them is used here. Step five. Split members into groups. Click the Groups tab. A group is a part of the space, with its own courses and its own manager. This space has none yet. Type a Group name, and click Add group. It is not clicked here. Groups tie back to the Courses tab. Beside each course, Course access is Everyone in the Learning Space, or Specific groups only. Step six. See it as a member. Now sign in as a member of the space and open its page. The top shows the space, its members and its courses. Under it are the courses of this learning space. View Course opens one, ready to start. That is all six. Learning Spaces turned on, a learning space created, its courses assigned, its members added, groups explained, and the space seen as a member. A whole team now gets its courses from one place. Next in this series: Send events to other apps with webhooks.
