In this tutorial you will turn on a certificate for a course in Learnomy, so students receive one when they finish. You need the free Learnomy plugin, with the Certificates module on, and a course with lessons. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Check the Certificates module. Open Completion and Certificate. Tick Award a certificate. Choose a template. Check the site default. Then earn the certificate as a student. Step one. Check the Certificates module. Open L M S Settings, then Modules. Under Student experience, Certificates must be switched on. Step two. Open Completion and Certificate. Open Learnomy, then Courses, and click Edit on your course. Scroll to Completion and Certificate. Completion Requirement decides what counts as finishing the course. Step three. Tick Award a certificate. Tick the box named Award a certificate on completion. On this course it is already ticked. Step four. Choose a template. The Certificate Template list appears once the box is ticked. Pick the design students will receive. To change a design, use Manage certificate templates. Then click Update Course. Step five. Check the site default. Open L M S Settings, then Settings, and click Certificate Defaults. With Award by default on, every course gives a certificate. Switch it off to award one only on the courses where you ticked the box. Step six. Earn the certificate as a student. Sign in as a student, open the course, and finish the last lesson. The certificate is issued at once. It is under Certificates in My Account, ready to download or share. That is all six. The Certificates module checked, Completion and Certificate opened, the box ticked, a template chosen, the site default checked, and a certificate earned as a student.
