How to turn lesson comments on or off in Learnomy, step by step: open LMS Settings, then Settings, then Course Comments, set the site-wide switch, set comments for one course under Engagement, set them for one lesson under Lesson Settings, and see the Discussion as a student.
In this tutorial you will turn lesson comments on or off in Learnomy. Students can discuss a lesson on the lesson page itself, and you decide where that is allowed. You need the free Learnomy plugin. No module has to be turned on for it. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Course Comments. Set the site switch. Set it for one course. Set it for one lesson. Then see the comments as a student. Step one. Open Course Comments. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Settings, and click Course Comments. The section has one card, Comment Settings, with one switch. Step two. Set the site switch. Enable Lesson Comments lets students post comments on lessons. It is on from the start, and it is on here. Off is a master switch. With it off, no course and no lesson can have comments, and the comment choices in the next two steps are not shown at all. Comments already written are not deleted. Save Changes is under the card. It is not clicked here. Step three. Set it for one course. Open Learnomy, then Courses, and edit the course. Find the part called Engagement. Allow comments on Lessons is ticked on every course until you untick it. Untick it, update the course, and none of its lessons has comments, unless a lesson says otherwise. Step four. Set it for one lesson. Open Learnomy, then Lessons, and edit the lesson. Under Lesson Settings is a list called Comments. It has three choices. Inherit from course follows the course, and is where every lesson starts. On and Off set this one lesson, whatever the course says. Step five. See the comments as a student. Now sign in as a student of the course and open a lesson. Next to the lesson is a panel called Discussion, with a box to write in and a Post Comment button. Anyone enrolled in the course can post and reply. The instructor is marked with a badge. A new comment follows your WordPress Discussion settings, so it can be held until the instructor approves it. That is all five. Course Comments opened, the site switch set, one course set, one lesson set, and the comments seen as a student. Lesson comments are now on exactly where you want them. Next in this series: Handle reported content.
