Transcript

In this tutorial you will rename courses, lessons and students in Learnomy. If your site has classes and learners, not courses and students, Learnomy can use your words. You need the free Learnomy plugin. No module has to be turned on for it. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Labels. Read the rows. Type your own words. Save, and know what changes. Then see where the words show. Step one. Open Labels. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Settings, and click Labels. The section has one card, Entity Labels. Step two. Read the rows. Each row is one word Learnomy uses. The name on the left is the built-in word. The first box is for one of them, the second box for several. The first rows are for your content. Course, Lesson, Quiz, Section, Topic and Category. The last two rows are for people. Student and Instructor. The grey text in an empty box is the built-in word that is in use now. Step three. Type your own words. Find the row you want to rename. Here it is Course. Type the word for one in the first box, and the word for several in the second. Here, Class and Classes. Fill in both boxes. An empty box keeps its built-in word, so one filled box would leave you with Class and Courses side by side. Step four. Save, and know what changes. Save Changes is under the card. It is not clicked here. To go back to a built-in word later, empty its boxes and save again. After saving, your words are used across the site. Settings tabs such as Course Comments change. So do the rows of the Learnomy menu, such as Courses, Lessons and Students, the emails Learnomy sends, and the pages your students see. Your page addresses do not change. The word courses in an address is set in URLs and Pages, which has its own tutorial. Step five. See where the words show. Now sign in as a member and open the course catalog. The heading, All Courses, uses the word for several courses. Each card counts its Students with the student word. After a rename, every one of these reads with your words. That is all five. Labels opened, the rows read, your own words typed, the changes known, and the words found on the site. Learnomy can now speak the way your site does. Next in this series: Choose your page layouts.
