Transcript

In this tutorial you will change your page addresses in Learnomy. Every Learnomy page has an address built from set words, such as courses and lesson. You can swap each word for your own. You need the free Learnomy plugin. No module has to be turned on for it. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open URLs and Pages. Change an address word. Know the other words. Save, and mind old links. Then check the Frontend Pages table. Step one. Open URLs and Pages. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Settings, and click URLs and Pages. The section starts with the URL Slugs card. A slug is one word of an address. Step two. Change an address word. Course URL Base is the word in front of your course catalog and every course page. It is courses until you change it. Lesson URL Segment is the word inside a lesson address. Course Quiz URL Segment and Category URL Segment work the same way. To change one, type your own word in its box. Here, Course URL Base becomes classes. Learnomy turns what you type into small letters, with hyphens for spaces. An empty box goes back to its usual word when you save. Step three. Know the other words. Instructor URL Base is for the instructor dashboard and public profiles. Certificate Verify URL Base is for the links that check a certificate. Standalone Quiz URL Base is for a quiz that is not part of a course. Membership URL Base is the pricing page. Enroll URL Base is for checkout, and Account URL Base is for the student account pages. My Learning Spaces URL is used only with the Spaces extension of Learnomy Pro. Step four. Save, and mind old links. Save Changes is at the bottom of the section. It is not clicked here. When a word has changed, Learnomy rebuilds the address rules of your site on its own, so the new addresses work straight away. The old addresses stop working. Learnomy does not forward them, so a link you have already shared, or one in a search engine, shows page not found. Choose your words before you launch. Step five. Check the Frontend Pages table. Under the address words, it lists every Learnomy page with its address, built from your words. Access shows whether a page is Public or needs a login. View opens the page. A row marked Dynamic has a part in curly brackets. That part stands for one course, lesson or person, so there is no single page to open. Above this table is a card called Legal. Give it your Terms of Service page, and the sign-up form asks new members to agree to it. If WordPress has a privacy policy page, sign-up asks them to agree to that as well. That is all five. URLs and Pages opened, a word changed, the other words known, old links minded, and the table checked. Your addresses can now use your own words. Next in this series: Rename courses, lessons and students.
