Transcript

In this tutorial you will use the gradebook in Learnomy. It turns quiz and assignment scores into one final grade for each student. You need Learnomy Pro. Gradebook is one of its extensions, and it starts switched off. You also need a course with graded work. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Turn on Gradebook. Open a course. Set the weighting. Read and override grades. Then see it as a student. Step one. Turn on Gradebook. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Modules, and find the Gradebook card. It has a Pro badge. It starts switched off. Click its switch to turn it on. Here it is already on, so the switch is blue. Step two. Open a course. Open Learnomy, then Gradebook. Each course is listed with its Students, its Class average and its Pass rate. A dash means no student has a score yet. Click Open gradebook on a course. Step three. Set the weighting. Grade weighting is one line above the table. It shows how much each source counts, the pass mark and the rounding. Click the line to open it. The sources are Quizzes, Assignments, and Standards, which is SCORM. Quizzes is the average of the student's best attempt in each quiz. The weights do not have to add up to one hundred. Type fifty and thirty, and the line under the fields says they are scaled, keeping their ratio. A source set to zero is left out. A source that counts but has no score yet counts as zero, so it lowers the grade until the work is done. Pass threshold is the final grade a student needs to pass. A new course uses seventy. Rounding makes the final grade a whole number. Nearest turns eighty six point five into eighty seven. Then click Save weighting. It is not clicked here. Step four. Read and override grades. In the table, every student has a row. Their Quiz and Assignment scores, the Final grade, and a Result of Pass or Fail. A student with no graded work reads No work yet, not Fail, and is left out of the pass rate. To set a grade by hand, click Override on the row. Type the Final grade and a Reason. The reason is required. Save override replaces the computed grade until you revert it. It is not clicked here. Export CSV, at the top, downloads the grades of the whole course. Step five. See it as a student. Now sign in as a student. In My Account, Grades has a card for each course they are enrolled in, with the Final grade. The badge reads Passing once the grade reaches the pass threshold. Under it are the sources that have a score. A course with no graded work reads No work yet. That is all five. Gradebook turned on, a course opened, the weighting set, grades read and overridden, and the grade seen as a student. Every student in a course now has one clear grade.
