Transcript

In this tutorial you will set up quiz proctoring in Learnomy. It is a light check, with no camera: it watches whether the student stays on the quiz tab. You need the free Learnomy plugin, with the Quizzes module on. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Open Quiz Settings. Turn on Track Tab Switches. Set the auto-submit limit. Then see it as a student. Step one. Open Quiz Settings. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Settings, and click Quiz Settings in the list. Scroll down to the card called Anti-Cheat. Its settings apply to every quiz on the site. Step two. Turn on Track Tab Switches. With it on, Learnomy records each time a student leaves the quiz tab for another tab or window. It starts switched off. Here it is on, so the switch is blue. Step three. Set the auto-submit limit. In Auto-submit after N tab switches, type how many switches end the attempt. Here it is two, so the second switch hands the quiz in. Leave it at zero to record and warn only, and never hand in for the student. Then click Save Changes, under the card. It is not clicked here. Step four. See it as a student. Now sign in as a student and open any quiz. The start screen has a new line. Monitored, stay on this tab. Switching away two times will submit your quiz automatically. The student starts the quiz. If they leave the tab and come back, a warning is waiting above the question. Tab switching detected. This activity is recorded. If they leave a second time, the quiz is handed in for them. A note on the result tells them why, and their answers up to that point are graded. That is all four. Quiz Settings opened, Track Tab Switches turned on, the auto-submit limit set, and the notice, the warning and the hand-in seen as a student. Your quizzes now watch for students leaving the tab. Next in this series: Set the API limit and cache time.
