Transcript

In this tutorial you will resume a quiz where you left off in Learnomy. A closed tab or a lost connection does not cost a student their answers. You need the free Learnomy plugin, with the Quizzes module on, and a quiz. There is nothing to switch on. This quiz uses the Focused layout, one question at a time. It takes about three minutes. There are three steps. Start the quiz and answer. Come back to the quiz. Then finish and hand in. Step one. Start the quiz and answer. Sign in as a student, open the quiz, and click Start Quiz. The clock for the whole quiz starts now. Answer a few questions. Each answer is stored in the background a moment after you give it. There is no button for that. The Conversational layout stores answers the same way. Carry on to question four. Moving to another question is stored too, and so is a flag. Here question four is flagged, and left open. Now the student closes the tab, or the connection drops. Nothing has to be done first. Step two. Come back to the quiz. Later, the student opens the same quiz again, and lands on its first page. Click Start Quiz. Nothing begins again. A line at the top reads, Welcome back, your progress was restored, with the number of answers and the time left. You are on the question you left, question four. It is still flagged. Click the ring, and the map has the three answered questions and the flag. The clock kept running while you were away. Closing a timed quiz does not pause it, so the time left is what really remains. Step three. Finish and hand in. You can leave and come back as often as you need. Each time, Start Quiz puts you back where you were. Answer the rest. Here the remaining questions are answered quickly. Because one question is still flagged, the quiz stops at a screen called Before you submit. Click Submit Quiz there to hand in. The result counts every answer, the ones from before the break as well. That is all three. The quiz started and answered, the quiz opened again with everything restored, and the quiz finished and handed in. Your students can now leave a long quiz and pick it up again. Next in this series: Set up quiz proctoring.
