In this tutorial you will limit quiz attempts in Learnomy. You decide how many times a student can take a quiz, and which try counts. You need the free Learnomy plugin, and a quiz. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the Grading section. Set the Attempt limit. Pick the Grading method. Set a cooldown and a lockout. Then see it as a student. Step one. Open the Grading section. In your WordPress admin, open Learnomy, then Quizzes, and click Edit on the quiz. In the quiz editor, scroll to the section called Grading. Step two. Set the Attempt limit. It is how many times one student can take this quiz. Zero means no limit. This quiz allows three. A quiz in Practice mode ignores this number. Practice is always unlimited. Step three. Pick the Grading method. It decides which attempt counts when a student has more than one. Highest keeps the best score. First and Latest keep one attempt. Average uses them all. Step four. Set a cooldown and a lockout. Open the section called Attempts and Cooldown. Cooldown between attempts is how many minutes a student waits before trying again. Max failed attempts locks a student out after that many failed tries. The student is told to contact the instructor. Zero means no lockout. Then click Update Quiz. Step five. See it as a student. Sign in as a student and open the quiz. The start screen says three attempts allowed. This student has taken it once. The screen shows the last score, and says that taking it again keeps the best score. The button now reads Retake Quiz. That is all five. The Grading section opened, the Attempt limit set, the Grading method picked, a cooldown and a lockout set, and the result seen as a student. Your quiz now has clear rules for retakes.
