Transcript

In this tutorial you will run a one-teacher academy with solo mode in Learnomy. One switch hides everything that is only for sites with several instructors. You need the free Learnomy plugin. No module has to be turned on for it. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the General settings. Find Academy Mode. See what it hides in the admin. See what visitors lose. Then save, and undo it. Step one. Open the General settings. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Settings. The page opens on General, the first section in the list. Step two. Find Academy Mode. Scroll down to the card called Academy Mode. Its first switch is Solo academy, I am the only instructor. It is off on a new site. Turn it on when you teach every course yourself and will not take on other instructors. Step three. See what it hides in the admin. Solo mode is still off here, so these screens are on show. With it on, Instructors leaves the Learnomy menu, and its Applications tab goes with it. In Settings, the Instructors section is hidden, and so is Commissions. Solo mode switches the Commissions and Payouts module off for as long as it is on, so the Earnings pages go too. Step four. See what visitors lose. This is the instructor application page, as a visitor who is not signed in. With solo mode on, this page returns page not found. The form to apply from inside an account goes the same way, and the student sign-up page stops offering it. Courses, lessons, quizzes and students are not changed. Step five. Save, and undo it. Back in General, turn the switch on and click Save Changes at the bottom of the section. It is not clicked here. It stores every General setting as it is shown. Solo mode deletes nothing. Instructors you already have keep their accounts and their courses, but their Earnings page is hidden as well. So use it only when you teach alone. To undo it, turn the same switch off and save. The hidden screens come back, and your Modules choices are as you left them. That is all five. The General settings opened, Academy Mode found, what it hides in the admin seen, what visitors lose seen, and how to save and undo it. Your site can now show only what a single teacher needs. Next in this series: Export your data as a spreadsheet.
