Transcript

In this tutorial you will approve courses before they go live in Learnomy. An instructor sends a course to you, and you decide whether it is published. You need the free Learnomy plugin, and at least one instructor. No module has to be turned on for it. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the Instructors settings. Find Self-Publish Courses. Require approval from one instructor. Open Pending Review. Then approve or reject a course. Step one. Open the Instructors settings. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Settings, and click Instructors. The section has one card, Instructor Permissions. It is hidden while solo mode is on. Step two. Find Self-Publish Courses. The switch is on, on a new site. That lets instructors publish a course on their own. Turn it off, and from then on a course an instructor publishes is held as Pending Review until you decide. The rule is for instructors. A course an administrator publishes still goes live at once. Then click Save Changes. It is not clicked here. It stores the two switches in this section as they are shown, and nothing else. Step three. Require approval from one instructor. You can leave the site switch on and hold back one person. Open Learnomy, then Instructors, and click the instructor's name. At the top of their page is Require Course approval. It asks you to confirm, and then this instructor's courses wait for review as well. It is not clicked here. The same button then reads Allow self-publish, which undoes it. Step four. Open Pending Review. Open Learnomy, then Courses. The Pending Review tab counts the courses that are waiting for you. Click it. One sample course is waiting here. Learnomy also notifies you each time an instructor sends a course for review. Step five. Approve or reject a course. Click Edit to read the course first. Approve asks you to confirm, then publishes it. It is not clicked here. Reject is in the menu at the end of the row. It asks for a reason, and sends the course back to Draft so the instructor can change it and try again. Nothing in the course is deleted. With the Notifications module on, Learnomy notifies the instructor of either decision. And a rejected course shows your reason at the top of its edit screen, as on this second sample. That is all five. The Instructors settings opened, Self-Publish Courses found, approval required from one instructor, Pending Review opened, and a course approved or rejected. No course reaches your students now without your say. Next in this series: Run a one-teacher academy with solo mode.
