Transcript

In this tutorial you will release lessons on a schedule in Learnomy, so a course opens up step by step. You need Learnomy Pro. Content Drip is one of its extensions, and it starts switched off. You also need a course with lessons. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Turn on Content Drip. Open Release schedule. Pick when the lesson unlocks. Check the whole course. Then see it as a student. Step one. Turn on Content Drip. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Modules. Under Content, find the Content Drip card. It has a Pro badge. It starts switched off. Click its switch to turn it on. Here it is already on, so the switch is blue. Step two. Open Release schedule. Open Learnomy, then Lessons, and edit a lesson. The rule is set on the lesson itself. In the column on the right, under Schedule, is a card called Release schedule. A new lesson has to be stored once before this card can be used. Step three. Pick when the lesson unlocks. There are four choices. Immediate is where every lesson starts. It opens as soon as the student enrolls. After enrollment counts days from the day each student joined, so everyone gets the same pace. This lesson opens after seven days. On a fixed date opens the lesson for everyone on one Release date, whenever they enrolled. After a prerequisite Lesson opens it when the student completes the lesson you pick from this list. A lesson has one rule at a time. Then click Save schedule. It is not clicked here. Step four. Check the whole course. Open Learnomy, then Pro Tools, and click the Content Drip card. Choose the Course, then click View schedule. The table lists every lesson with its Drip Type, its Value and its Status. A lesson with no rule reads Immediate and Available. A lesson with a rule reads Dripped. This table is for reading. To change a rule, click the lesson name and its editor opens. Step five. See it as a student. Now sign in as a student of the course. In Course Content, the lessons that are not open yet carry a lock. Open a lesson locked by a prerequisite, and the page names the lesson to finish first. Here, finish The house rules. Open a lesson locked by a date, and the page gives the day and time it unlocks, with a countdown under it. Administrators, and the author of the course, always see every lesson open. And if a lesson also has an Available date from the free plugin, the student waits for whichever comes later. That is all five. Content Drip turned on, Release schedule opened, the unlock rule picked, the whole course checked, and the locks seen as a student. Your course now opens one lesson at a time. Next in this series: Take notes and bookmark lessons.
