In this tutorial you will add a video to a lesson in Learnomy. You paste a link, and the player appears inside the lesson. You need the free Learnomy plugin, a lesson, and a link to your video. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open the lesson editor. Choose Video and paste the link. Choose Embed for other players. Embed inside a written lesson. Update the lesson. Then see the video as a student. Step one. Open the lesson editor. In your WordPress admin, open Learnomy, then Lessons, and click Edit on your lesson. In the lesson editor, scroll down to the Lesson Settings card, and find Content Type. Step two. Choose Video and paste the link. Set Content Type to Video. A field called Video URL appears. Paste the link to your video. It takes a link from YouTube or Vimeo, or a video file you host yourself. Learnomy works out which one it is. Step three. Choose Embed for other players. For content that is not a plain video, set Content Type to Embed, and paste its link into Embed URL. If a link cannot be shown as a player, students get a tidy card with a button that opens it, not a broken frame. Step four. Embed inside a written lesson. To put a video in the middle of your text, leave the type on Text. In the Content box, click the plus beside a line. Choose Embed from the menu, and paste the link. Step five. Update the lesson. First set the Duration, so students see how long the lesson is in the course curriculum. Then click Update Lesson in the Publish box. Step six. See the video as a student. Sign in as a student and open a video lesson. The player is at the top of the lesson. Anything you wrote in the Content box is shown under the video. That is all six. The lesson editor opened, a video link pasted, Embed chosen for other players, an embed placed inside a written lesson, the lesson updated, and the video checked as a student. Your lessons can now show video. Next in this series: Set how a course looks in search.
