In this tutorial you will choose the content type of a lesson in Learnomy. The type decides how the lesson is delivered to students. You need the free Learnomy plugin, and a course with at least one lesson. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open the lesson editor. Open the Content Type list. Add an audio, PDF or download file. Set up a Live session. Update the lesson. Then see a live lesson as a student. Step one. Open the lesson editor. In your WordPress admin, open Learnomy, then Lessons. The Type column shows what each lesson is now. Click Edit on a lesson to open it in the lesson editor. Step two. Open the Content Type list. It is in the Lesson Settings card. There are seven types. Text is the one a new lesson starts with. The others are Video, Audio, PDF, Embed, Live session and Download. The form shows only the fields the chosen type needs. Step three. Add an audio, PDF or download file. Pick Audio, and a button called Choose audio file appears. It opens your media library. Pick PDF, and the button becomes Choose PDF. The document is shown inside the lesson. Pick Download, and it becomes Choose file. Students get a button that downloads that file. Step four. Set up a Live session. This lesson is a Live session. Join link takes the meeting link from the service you host the session on. Starts at is the date and time of the session. Leave it blank for a room that is always open. Runs for is how many minutes the Join button stays available after the start. Blank means sixty minutes. Step five. Update the lesson. Click Update Lesson in the Publish box. The type only changes how the lesson is shown. Who can open it still depends on enrollment. Step six. See a live lesson as a student. Sign in as a student and open the lesson. Before the session, there is a countdown, and the date and time. The Join now button is greyed out until the session starts. Then it opens your meeting link in a new tab. That is all six. The lesson editor opened, the Content Type list opened, a file type chosen, a Live session set up, the lesson updated, and a live lesson checked as a student. Each lesson can now be delivered the way that suits it. Next in this series: Add a video to a lesson.
