In this tutorial you will make certificates tamper-evident in Learnomy. Each new certificate gets a fingerprint that anyone can check. You need Learnomy Pro. Certificates Pro is one of its extensions, and it starts switched off. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Turn on Certificates Pro. Turn on fingerprints. Check a certificate. Then know what it proves. Step one. Turn on Certificates Pro. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Modules, and find the Certificates Pro card. It has a Pro badge. It starts switched off. Click its switch to turn it on. Here it is already on, so the switch is blue. Step two. Turn on fingerprints. Open L M S Settings, then Settings, and click Credly, near the foot of the list. The card you want is the second one on that screen, Tamper-evident certificates. Turn on the switch, Record a fingerprint for every certificate issued. From then on, each certificate is fingerprinted the moment it is issued. The note under it matters. Only certificates issued from now on are affected. Older ones keep verifying as before. Then click Save Changes on this card. It is not clicked here. Step three. Check a certificate. Every certificate has a public page. Nobody has to sign in to open it, and the Q R code on the certificate leads to it. Under the details, a certificate with a fingerprint has one more line. Tamper-evident hash verified, with the start of the fingerprint beside it. Step four. Know what it proves. The fingerprint is worked out from the certificate, the student, the course, the issue date and the signature. Each time the page opens, Learnomy works it out again and compares the two. A match reads verified. If any of those details were changed after issue, the line would read Certificate hash recorded instead, without the word verified. A revoked certificate keeps its fingerprint line on this page, with the date it was revoked. The fingerprints are kept in a registry on your own site. Nothing is sent anywhere else. That is all four. Certificates Pro turned on, fingerprints turned on, a certificate checked, and what the fingerprint proves. Anyone who checks a certificate can now tell it has not been altered.
