In this tutorial you will set the API limit and the cache time in Learnomy. Most sites can leave both as they are. This shows what they do. You need the free Learnomy plugin. Nothing else has to be turned on. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Open API and Performance. Set the request limit. Set the cache time. Then know the two tools. Step one. Open API and Performance. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Settings. In the list, under Advanced, click API and Performance. The section has two cards. API and Performance, with two numbers, and Tools. Step two. Set the request limit. Sensitive endpoint limit is how many sensitive requests one user may send in a minute. A new site allows 60. The help under the field lists what it covers. Sign-in and sign-up, app passwords, enrollment, starting a quiz, progress sync, reviews, reports, creating a course, and withdrawal requests. Past the limit, the request is refused until the minute is over. Administrators and instructors are never limited. Zero switches the limit off. 10,000 is the most you can set. Step three. Set the cache time. Cache TTL is in seconds. It is how long the answer to a read request, such as the course catalog, may be reused before it is asked for again. A new site uses 3600, which is one hour. Zero means no caching. The most is 86,400, which is one day. A student's own data, such as progress, is not held back by this. It is checked fresh every time. After changing a number, click Save Changes at the foot of the section. It is not clicked here. Step four. Know the two tools. The Tools card has two buttons. They act at once and are not settings. Each asks you to confirm first. Send test email sends one message to your own address, to prove that mail from the site arrives. Flush rewrite rules makes WordPress rebuild its address rules. Use it when a Learnomy page gives a not found error after a change. That is all four. API and Performance opened, the request limit set, the cache time set, and the two tools known. You now know what these two numbers do, and when to leave them alone. Next in this series: See your exam integrity signals.
