In this tutorial you will send events to other apps with webhooks in Learnomy. A webhook posts a short message to an address you choose, each time something happens. Webhooks are in the free Learnomy plugin. The last two steps, retries and the delivery log, need Learnomy Pro with the Webhooks Pro extension. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Webhooks. Add a webhook. Read the list. Turn on Webhooks Pro. Then read the delivery log. Step one. Open Webhooks. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Webhooks. The counter at the top right reads zero of three used. The free plugin runs up to three active webhooks at a time. Step two. Add a webhook. Scroll to Add New Webhook. In Delivery U R L, type the address that should receive the messages. Under Events to Send, tick what it should hear about. Enrollment Created, for one. Select all ticks a whole group. Secret Key is filled in for you. Every message is signed with it, so the other side can check it came from your site. Copy it now. It is not shown again after saving. Then click Add Webhook. It is not clicked here. Step three. Read the list. Under the form, every webhook has a row. Its address, its Events, its Status, and when it was Last Triggered. Under the date is the answer the other side gave. H T T P two hundred means it arrived. Edit changes the address and the events. Test sends a sample message straight away, and Delete removes the webhook. None of them is clicked here. Step four. Turn on Webhooks Pro. This part needs Learnomy Pro. Open L M S Settings, then Modules, and find the Webhooks Pro card. It starts switched off. Turned on, it lifts the limit of three, adds more events, and tries a failed delivery again. Here it is on, so the switch is blue. Step five. Read the delivery log. Back on Webhooks, each row now has a View Log button. Click it. The log lists every delivery to that address. Its Status, the Event, the Attempt, and the H T T P answer. A failed delivery is tried again after five minutes, then after thirty. After the third attempt, it reads Exhausted. The buttons above the list narrow it to Delivered, Failed or Pending. That is all five. Webhooks opened, a webhook added, the list read, Webhooks Pro turned on, and the delivery log read. Your other tools can now hear what happens in your academy. Next in this series: Connect Learnomy to your community.
