Transcript

In this tutorial you will use advanced quiz types in Learnomy. They are five more kinds of question, and every one is graded for you. You need Learnomy Pro. Advanced Quizzes is one of its extensions, and it starts switched off. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Turn on Advanced Quizzes. Pick an advanced type. Set the answers. Then take the quiz as a student. Step one. Turn on Advanced Quizzes. In your WordPress admin, open L M S Settings, then Modules, and find the Advanced Quizzes card. It has a Pro badge. It starts switched off. Click its switch to turn it on. Here it is already on, so the switch is blue. Step two. Pick an advanced type. Open Learnomy, then Question Bank, and add a new question. Under the question text is the Type list. After the six types of the free plugin, there are now five more. Matching, Ordering, Numeric, Math expression and Calculated. The note under the list says it. The type you pick changes the Answers section below. Step three. Set the answers. A Matching question takes pairs. The left item, and the answer that belongs to it. Each right pair earns an equal share of the marks. An Ordering question takes the items in their right order. Students see them shuffled, and each item in its right place earns a share. A Numeric question takes a Correct value and an accepted tolerance. Here, thirty, give or take a half. Leave the tolerance empty for an exact match. A Calculated question has names in curly brackets in its text, and an Answer formula that uses the same names. Each attempt fills the names with its own numbers, and grades the answer against the formula. Under the formula, Variables give each name the range its numbers are drawn from. A Min, a Max, and the number of Decimals. Math expression takes a Correct expression. Any answer that is equal in algebra is accepted, as the note explains. When the answers are set, click Create Question, or Update Question on one you are editing. Nothing is stored here. Step four. Take the quiz as a student. Now sign in as a student and open a quiz that holds these questions. Click Start Quiz. Matching comes as two columns. Click a term on the left, then its match on the right. A number ties each pair together. Click Next. Ordering is a list to drag into the right order, by the handle on each row. Numeric is a box for a number. Type thirty. Thirty point four would also be right, because the tolerance is a half. The last one is the Calculated question. The curly brackets are gone, and this attempt has its own two numbers. Another attempt gets different ones. That is all four. Advanced Quizzes turned on, an advanced type picked, the answers set, and the quiz taken as a student. Your quizzes can now ask students to match, to sort, and to work out a number. Next in this series: Read your membership analytics.
