Transcript

In this tutorial you will group quiz questions by subject in Learnomy, so one quiz can cover several subjects and score each one. You need the free Learnomy plugin, and a quiz with questions. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Make the question categories. Give each question a category. Turn on grouping in the quiz. Then see the result as a student. Step one. Make the question categories. In your WordPress admin, open Learnomy, then Question Bank. Each subject is one question category. Click Manage categories. Type a name to add one. This site has Newsletter Planning and Newsletter Writing, with three questions each. Step two. Give each question a category. The Category column shows where every question is filed. To change it, click Edit on the question and pick a Category in the question editor. Step three. Turn on grouping in the quiz. Open the quiz from Learnomy, Quizzes, and open the Behaviour section. Tick Group questions by category. It is off on a new quiz. With it on, when a student takes the quiz, the questions of each category come together. The results screen then adds Score by category, unless Feedback timing is Never, or After attempt finalizes. Use it on a quiz with questions from two or more categories. Then click Update Quiz. Step four. See the result as a student. Sign in as a student who has finished the quiz, and open Quiz Attempts in the account. This is the saved review of one attempt. It lists the questions under each category, with how many were right. Three of three in Newsletter Planning. The saved review groups this way with the setting on or off, unless the quiz uses the Sectioned layout or hides answer feedback. That is all four. The question categories made, each question given a category, grouping turned on in the quiz, and the result seen as a student. One quiz can now cover several subjects. Next in this series: Add a reading passage to a question.
