How to set course completion rules in Learnomy, step by step: open the Completion and Certificate section of a course, choose a Completion Requirement, set a completion percentage, save the course, and see progress as a student.

Transcript

In this tutorial you will set the completion rule of a course in Learnomy. The rule decides when a student counts as finished. You need the free Learnomy plugin, and a course. A certificate also needs the Certificates module, which is off on a new site. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Completion and Certificate. Choose a Completion Requirement. Set a percentage. Save the course. Then see progress as a student. Step one. Open Completion and Certificate. In your WordPress admin, open Learnomy, then Courses, and click Edit on your course. In the course form, scroll down to the section called Completion and Certificate. With the Certificates module off, it is called Completion. Step two. Choose a Completion Requirement. There are four rules. All Lessons Completed is the default. The course is finished when every lesson is done. Lessons plus Final Quiz also needs a pass on the course quiz. Percentage of Content finishes the course at a share you set. Manual Completion never finishes on its own. An admin or instructor marks each student complete. Step three. Set a percentage. Pick Percentage of Content, and a slider called Completion Percentage appears. Drag it to the share of lessons a student must finish. At eighty percent, the course completes without waiting for the last lessons. Step four. Save the course. With the Certificates module on, tick Award a certificate on completion, and the certificate is issued when the rule is met. Then click Update Course in the Publish box. Step five. See progress as a student. Sign in as a student and open a course you are enrolled in. The bar shows how much is complete. When the rule you chose is met, Learnomy marks the course complete for that student. That is all five. Completion and Certificate opened, a Completion Requirement chosen, a percentage set, the course saved, and progress checked as a student. Your course now finishes when you say it does. Next in this series: Moderate course reviews.
