Transcript

In this tutorial you will set how a Learnomy course looks in search results, and in the preview people see when its link is shared. You need the free Learnomy plugin, and a course. Every field is optional. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Search and Sharing. Write the Search title and description. Set the share image. Choose the Search visibility. Then update the course and check it. Step one. Open Search and Sharing. In your WordPress admin, open Learnomy, then Courses, and click Edit on your course. In the course form, scroll down to the section called Search and Sharing. It is folded. Click its heading to open it. Step two. Write the Search title and description. Search title is the page title in search results. Leave it empty, and the course title is used. Search description is the text under the title. About one hundred and fifty five characters is what most search engines show. Step three. Set the share image. Share image URL is the picture shown when someone shares the course link. Leave it empty, and the course thumbnail is used. Share image, media I D, takes the number of a picture in your media library. It is used only when no URL is set above. Step four. Choose the Search visibility. There are three choices. Visible in search is the default. The other two hide the course from search engines. Hiding a course from search does not lock it. Anyone with the link can still open it. Step five. Update the course and check it. Click Update Course in the Publish box. To check your work, click View Course, copy the link, and paste it into a chat with yourself. The preview shows your title, description and picture. That is all five. Search and Sharing opened, the Search title and description written, the share image set, the Search visibility chosen, and the course updated. Your course now shows up the way you wrote it. Next in this series: Add courses to any page.
