Transcript

In this tutorial you will manage a subscription after sign-up in Learnomy. Failed payments, pauses, plan changes and refunds. You need Learnomy Pro, with the Membership module on. Memberships Pro is a Pro extension, and it starts switched on. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Set retries and plan credit. Pause as a member. Find failed payments. Then refund a payment. Step one. Set retries and plan credit. Open L M S Settings, then Settings, and click Billing and retries, under Commerce. Payment retries decides what happens when a renewal fails. Standard tries again after seven, fourteen and twenty-eight days. That is where a new site starts. If the last retry fails, the subscription is cancelled. Off cancels on the first failure. Plan changes. With this ticked, a member who switches plans gets credit for the unused time on the old one. The box starts ticked. After a change, click Save Changes. It is not clicked here. Step two. Pause as a member. Now sign in as a member with a plan. In My Account, Memberships shows the plan, the current period and the next payment. Pause subscription puts the membership on hold. It is offered while the subscription is active or in its trial. It is not clicked here. When the member resumes, the end of the period moves on by the length of the pause, so no paid time is lost. Cancel subscription is beside it, for a member who wants to stop. Step three. Find failed payments. Back in the admin, open L M S Commerce, then Subscriptions. Every subscription is a row, with its Plan, Status and Period. In the status filter, choose Payment failed, then click Filter. Those are the subscriptions being retried. Paused has its own entry in the same list. Step four. Refund a payment. Open L M S Commerce, then Issue Refund. It lists the membership payments that have not been refunded yet. Each row has the Date, the Customer, the Amount and the Gateway. Narrow the list with Time window, at the top. Refund, on the row, sends the money back through the same gateway. It is not clicked here. A full refund also ends the subscription at once. A partial refund leaves it running. That is all four. Retries and plan credit set, a pause seen as a member, failed payments found, and a payment refunded. You now know what happens to a subscription after the first payment. Next in this series: Put your own name on the admin.
